I will be off tomorrow AND Tuesday so that I may enjoy the huge parade tomorrow in San Antonio, honoring Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr (this is a Big parade, over 100,000 people marching) then I will be spending Tuesday watching the Presidential Inauguration of Barack Obama. I am so excited to watch History unfold right in front of me. I am so happy to be alive to witness this wonderful event. Having Barack Obama as our President is not only special for Black African Americans, but for ALL of us who are in the Minority groups--Hispanic, Native American, Asian, Eskimo, Middle Eastern, etc... PLUS the Working Class and now the Middle Class. *I am so happy that my late father-in-law had a chance to vote for Barack Obama and to know that he will be our next President, before he passed away*
I think that Barack Obama did a fine thing by having dinner with the right-wing columnists last week and by letting everyone know that he will be listening to ALL sides of an issue and it will NOT be like the past 8 year nightmare we are just waking up from.
I hope he will pursue Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, etc... for their War Crimes; but I realize that the first major job will be trying to fix this horrible Economy.
If I EVER hear another Republican say again that their party is 'compassionate and conservative' I'll scream out the name of BUSH until they shut up! They have some damn nerve, after they are leaving us with an $11 TRILLION debt, mainly approved by their majority party in Congress from 2001 to January 2007, PLUS the years 1994 to 2000 when they were also the majority in Congress. The Democrats may have had a slim majority from January 2007 to the beginning of 2009, but they are not responsible (BUT some are Republicans in disguise who should be ashamed of themselves for caving in to Bush and his party) for the spending on the Illegal and Immoral war with Iraq and the tax cuts for the rich and super rich while the rest of us get stuck with all the bills and higher 'fees'.
Remember: it took almost 8 years of idiotic Neo-Cons and their agenda to get us into this mess. It's going to take Barack Obama at least 4 years to try to fix this mess--NOT including the 'surprises' he's going to find when he begins working out just what Bush approved, by way of Signing Statements and Presidential Directives issued from 2001-January 19, 2009. There must be a TON of stuff out there, waiting to be discovered by the Obama team, and the rest of us, on how Bush REALLY SCREWED this country and us!
I wish Barack Obama All the Best in his term of office as Our President.
