And the potential for actually losing freedom of speech is much greater when many people are primed for it by believing that those who disagree with them are either just evil liars who have managed to brainwash a lot of people who are too stupid to know the truth.

Boy, if Bush wanted to gut the First Amendment, he sure succeeded at it, didn't he?

Have people lost the ability to actually discuss the pros and cons of political issues without merely engaging in invective? Has it been so hard to see that that is what I've been talking about? I'll be glad to give my criticisms of Bush, but not with those who just lapse into hysterics.
