My back is better, but still sore. I will be home another week, then back to light duty, part-time for about 6 weeks at work. Then I will be evaluated again to make sure I can go back to full-time.

So, Governor Perry is threatening to have Texas secede from the US of A if Washington, DC doesn't do what he wants--mainly to cut taxes? I think he just saw his career as Governor go down the tubes.

I know that Texas has the Constitutional right to divide into 5 different states, and have each new state have Representatives in the House and also 2 Senators from each of the new states--but to secede is totally Illegal. Perry is only 'playing to the base' of his party--and showing the rest of the country how far 'the base' is from normal, regular life. I mean, how can a party keep being so stubbornly UNchanging (wishing we could all go back and live in the 1950s--the politics of the rich white man the only way to govern the US of A), so hypocritical (anyone who is NOT an Evangelical Christian isn't going to Heaven and doesn't deserve to be helped or heard), so ignorant (that you can keep cutting taxes, keep spending and still not have a huge deficit--what kind of Math is that)?

I got fed up with watching all that "Tea Party" baloney on Wednesday. I couldn't believe how people thought that "grassroots" movements started this "Tea Party". All you had to do was to watch Fox News (Faux News, to me) and listen to the hype about the upcoming "Tea Parties". The big money donors of the Republican party were behind the whole thing, from start to finish.

These "parties" were nothing more than an opportunity for racists and gullible people to come together and denounce Our President by carrying signs with displays of Obama looking like Hitler, and using Innocent little children to hold degrading signs.

I really would like to have a Republican answer a few questions. 1) How are we ever going to create new jobs, fix our old roads and bridges without spending money?
2) How come Republicans NEVER said one word against Bush when he was spending Trillions on Iraq and on Tax Cuts for the rich and super-rich? 3) How come people who make less than $250,000 per year DON'T like the idea of getting a Tax Cut from President Obama? 4) Are Republicans so angry at President Obama, just because they don't like his costly Stimulus Bill? Or don't they like him because he is half Black and half White, and is our country's leader?

Well, this week is FIESTA time in San Antonio. There will be a River Parade tomorrow evening, a Big Carnival all week, and 2 Big Parades-one on Friday afternoon, and the other on Saturday evening. I'm going to be sitting home, watching events on TV this year. I sure am going to miss going on the rides!

Love,
Mercedes
