I had planned on coming home earlier this week, but my husband and I ended up staying in Houston until Friday. A pleasant surprise was in store for us--one of his brothers had a 'surprise' wedding on Wednesday. His brother and his girlfriend have been together for Years, but they just decided to go ahead and have a small wedding Wednesday evening, since the whole family was together (plus a few other relatives were visiting at the time from California). From what I understand, they had their marriage license ready and were just waiting for the right time to 'spring' it on us. I'm glad my husband and I didn't go to Corpus Christi for the 4th of July weekend, then come back home after all. It was a very nice event--catered Spanish food, beautiful cake, all done at a local hotel, with a Justice of the Peace.
Chato and his friends are still in New Mexico. They should be back home in a few days, since they are running out of money. I think it was a bit more expensive than they thought it would be. My husband wired them some money at their hotel so they can have enough for food and gas on the long trip home. Even though Chato is 21 years old, he still sometimes acts like he's an irrational teenager and doesn't plan for the future...
It is Really Hot here in South Texas. I miss having a bit of mist and rain. After next month, the evenings should be cooling down a bit.
Yep, I have to get ready soon to leave for the work week. I send everyone here my Best Wishes and Love. I'll write back this weekend.
