Hi, Peggy and Barbara. I'm so glad that you are back online here. I was beginning to think that it was just me and Dukie.
The Texas heat has really been horrible this year--in San Antonio, the weatherman said yesterday that July was the Hottest month on Record! I'm not even going to think about this month of August, only that it's usually Hotter than July. It sure is the "Dog Days of Summer" here, and, even though it's been raining more north of here, we're pretty much bone-dry. My lawn at home looks like a brown wasteland. And my cousin's home in the city is not much better. I think I'll be saying some extra prayers tonight so the Lord can send us a bit more of the rain, and maybe turn the heat down a few degrees--instead of 102, a nice 95 degrees would be a 'cool front'.
Everyone in Congress is heading for their states for the August break. I know that my two Republican Senators are not in favor of President Obama's Healthcare reform, but I sure AM. If I could save even $25 a month on my co-pay for health insurance, it would be a blessing. It's about time that Everyone had a chance to get some kind of health care, but, as usual, the Republicans are being so damned Negative about it. They have NO solution, other than to keep on dissing Obama. I know that they don't want to have to pay 1 penny more than they do now, even if it will help someone who has No health insurance. I thought Republicans were 'Christian' and Christians are supposed to SHARE what they have with the poor and needy. Always the same baloney from them--too bad, so sad, but I'm Not going to help you--pull yourself up by your own bootstraps--even if you don't have any--that's not my problem, etc... How DARE they claim to be the party of "Compassion and Conservatism"!!! They are nothing but Greedy Bastards who look down their noses at people who are 'different' from themselves. If they are so Smart, where is Their Healthcare plan???
I hope to check back here before I leave after lunch for SA. If not, I send Everyone my Love and I'll check back with you next Sunday...
