Subject: I totally agree. He was one of the worst Popes ever and is revered because of his longevity and charisma. He did NOTHING positive for the Church and his handling of sex scandals were deplorable.

In reply to: The fact is ..... 's message, "Pope John Paul II absolutely does NOT deserve Sainthood because of his mollycoddling of priests who abused children. If he becomes a Saint I will want to throw up." on Thu, April 17, 2008 1:03:55

For this people think he deserves Sainthood.

I say he was a disgrace as a Pope.

I do not condone Sinead O'Connor ripping up a picture of the Pope because I believe that the OFFICE should be respected even if the man holding it is flawed.

I feel the same way about the Presidency.

Without a ZERO TOLERANCE policy the Church is, in my view, a FAILURE.

I did not wish JPII to suffer (he did for a long time) but I think he was one of the worst Popes ever.

Ah, he's not in charge of every parish in the world; others were the main culprits. Plus, his Parkinson's was most likely affecting his actions (NT)I have no problem with St. JP IIFri, April 18, 2008 6:53:32
