the answers to your questions...

Of course, it would be a wall of hate if we denied any law-abiding individual who wants to come here and become a citizen of the US of A. As I recall in my history books, there were millions of Illegal Immigrants from Europe that came over in the late 1890s and early 1900s because they were needed for working in the factories and mines of the eastern US of A. There were also Illegal Immigrants from China that came to the western part of the US of A at the same time, to basically work in the mines and work to expand the railroads in the west.

So, Tommy, it's not just that I fight for Illegal Mexican workers, who, by the by, are being taken advantage of by greedy business owners who won't pay them a decent wage. I speak out whenever I see ANYONE from ANYWHERE who just wants to make a living and feed their family be disrespected. PLUS how many jobs have been lost because the greedy business owners have moved their businesses overseas? This is such a complicated matter, but I wonder why you don't support a wall on the northern border with Canada. After all, that's where most of the al-Quaida hijackers from the Middle East ILLEGALLY entered, those who killed so many on September 11, 2001. NONE of them came through Mexico. So, I'd say that you have a problem with people who are different from you, Tommy. By the by, would you take a job picking fruit? Slaughtering animals? Washing dishes? Cooking food in a small restaurant? You object to the Illegal Immigrants who are here, but by them taking on crappy jobs that pay low wages, your cost of living in relative ease is guaranteed. (I don't think that Illegal Immigrants have anything to do with the high cost of gas--that's the rich greedy business owners again, with the Bush government that protects their profits, while they keep on smiling on their way to the bank with fistfuls of dollars...)

I must confess I don't know that much about al-Sadr and his policies. I know that he's hated the Bush invasion of his country and wants us to stay out of his business. He knows, like ALL of us know, that Bush had only ONE reason to invade his country--the OIL. You can twist and turn, debate and defend your president, Tommy, but you will NEVER convince me that Bush had any other reasons for invading Iraq. As for al-Sadr--How would you feel if some other country invaded us? How would you feel if your family was being killed and your source of living was being stolen? Would you just sit there and smile? Or would you go out and speak out about the evil that is going on all around you from an invading force that doesn't care if you live or die? I am NOT in favor of violence! No way do I want anyone to be hurt. But I can understand why some people just can't stand the thought of invaders taking over their lives.

By the by, you are a young, healthy man, I presume. Why haven't you volunteered for the military--to go fight them there so you don't have to fight them here? Well, I got news for you--there already are terrorists here in this country. Some are from other countries, but some were born here--home grown terrorists; and some may be caught, but some may slip through the FBI and CIA. You do recall the Oklahoma City bombing? Home grown terrorism that you can't blame on al-Quaida.

Don't ask me about my son, because I would kick him in his rear if he ever decided to fight for Bush. Let Bush's rich friends' kids go and fight for him, plus any "compassionate conservative" who thinks the people in the Middle East are living in the Dark Ages and are "heathens". They'll be in for a big surprise to find out that the Iraqis are not dumb!

I haven't noticed anyone asking John McCain the "tough" questions. How come he won't talk about his role in the Savings + Loan Scandal of the 1980s? Why won't he give us any indication of his REAL intentions for staying in Iraq and bombing Iran? Why doesn't he want anyone to know how much his wife earns every year? Is he embarrassed because she's worth at least $100 million? Why won't he discuss his anger issues? Seems to me he's not being asked any questions that relate to his running the country--only giving us notice that he will continue another 4 years of Tax cuts for the Rich, not much help with the Mortgage crisis and especially NO EXIT strategy in Iraq! Is anyone going to ask him about his friend, the minister John Hagee? I've been to his Cornerstone Church, in San Antonio, a few times, and I can tell you that Hagee is practically obsessed with Israel and doesn't really care one bit about any Arabs. What kind of minister is that to have as a backer? Is anyone going to ask McCain how the heck he's going to start paying the $10 TRILLION, yep, $10 TRILLION National Debt left by Bush? Wait, don't tell me, he'll give tax cuts to the rich, then he'll say he won't raise taxes for the rest of us, BUT he will approve of raising FEES for everything we purchase and pay on. THAT'S the Republican way of paying things--give breaks to the rich, then soak the rest of us with FEES (which is just another word for Taxes, but it's worse on us who have to keep paying more and more FEES--everything from renewing our drivers' licenses to paying our electric bill--the trouble with FEES is that mostly the poor and middle class pay them). Yep, Republicans HATE the word TAX but they sure LOVE the word FEES!

I've answered your questions as best as I could. Stay Cool, Tommy, you're too young to be getting worked up over the state of the world--go and have some fun from time to time, okay?

Mercedes :)
