I was just reading the Huffington Post on the Internet and they say that al-Sadr is asking his people to stop fighting and go back to their homes. Some people on Huffington are posting messages that al-Sadr's people are getting killed left and right and that al-Maliki is winning the battle.
I say NO WAY! I think al-Sadr is just waiting and taking a break, watching while the Iraqis attack the US Green Zone in Baghdad. When the US and Iraqi troops now in Basra turn back to Baghdad to defend the Green Zone, then al-Sadr will call his people in Basra to take over the OIL reserves and stay there until he calls them home. He knows that Exxon is just waiting in Kuwait for the green light to go into Basra and take over the OIL reserves. Exxon would be insane if they told their employees to go into the OIL reserves while al-Sadr's people are there--there would be so many deaths that Exxon would run back to Kuwait and wait for al-Maliki to take over Basra's OIL reserves. That ain't gonna happen.
Pretty smart move al-Sadr is making, in my opinion...
I know there are those on the board that will call me a traitor, but I'm looking at the Big Picture--what if we were invaded here in the US? Wouldn't we fight the invaders? Wouldn't we protect our homes, our families? Wouldn't we want the invaders to leave? We are in Iraq, due to George W. Bush's dreams of owning all the OIL in Iraq and making Trillions of dollars in profits for him, Cheney and their OIL buddies. That's ALL this war has ever been about! Well, the people of Iraq have the right to decide what THEY want to do--NOT G.W.Bush! They have the right to defend their homes, their families and their Lives, and their OIL!
