Subject: Huh??? My 'nastiness' and 'insensitive comment'? If you were really keen to attack a poster for being nasty and offensive on this board, your silence on the post remembering Peggy's friend is rather ominous. The rest of this post is for Doris.

Hi Doris

If you read the post that is above the post in which I call you my 'aspirin', you will see that not only are the questions written in block capitals but the answers are too. This is considered by many as the written equivalent of shouting. In fact such usage of block capitals is specifically outlawed by Barbara on the obits board.

It is almost headache inducing. As such, your stylistic convention of typing all letters in lower case (akin to David's choice to capitalize the first letter of each word in his thread title) makes a very welcome antidote to the block capitals and is intended to atone for my earlier jest when I suggested that you could not post on the obits because you refused to break this stylistic convention by typing a password that may have had a capital letter. Of course this was not not a serious suggestion and was meant to amuse and was just a case of me being silly.

I believed that the real reason you could not post on the obits time was merely because you did not have a password at the time you had discovered Slim Whitman had not passed on and posted the information here instead so that someone who did have immediate access could do so. Someone (I wonder who) then made an anonymous post complaining that the original thread was available for all to read claiming he had passed away. A few posts later, an anonymous post then incorrectly cited that post as being yours.

I now believe that was deliberate as yet again an anonymous post is trying to stir trouble between members of this board who have the decency to post with their names when responding to other named posters by trying to lead others to think that you had decided that my post was nasty. I do not believe you considered it as such and thought I would point this out to save you having to address the deliberately misleading post that followed yours.

When the contentious view on the Slim thread was wrongly attributed to you by an anonymous poster (probably by the same poster), you would have noted that I pointed out that it was not you who had made that contentious point. In coming to your defence I doubt you would really consider that my intention is to be unpleasant towards you.

I think my humour suffers some mid-Atlantic drift sometimes so if you did not get the reference, I would blame that.
