"Oh yes!" Pallaryn (There I go spelling 'Pallarny' again!) exclaimed in agreement to her step-sister's latter comment. "Wouldn't Mother and Father be suprised to hear of us traveling to Cairhien! And we didn't really even travel there! Well, not the conventional way. Gateways must be terribly hard to create, Alesta, aren't they? Especially to keep it up long enough for all these people to go through! Think of all the strength you'd need!"

She trailed off and blushed, realizing she sounded like one of the Brown sisters she'd been helping the other day. The woman had been the motherly sort, and not quite Aes Sedai-ish at all, but she adored talking! Had Pallaryn not had classes to go to, she felt sure that the woman would have talked to her all day long!

"I can't wait until we get to the Foregate," she continued, smiling. "Father--my first father, that is," she amended with a grin at Arienne, "told me stories once about the celebrations and things that go on there! Prentice Alesta, are there really as many celebrations there as all the stories say?"
