"Light! I'm going to be late! They'll leave without me!" Pallaryn cried in dismay, leaping out of her bed. Or at least, she tried to leap out. Her legs had been entangled in the sheets, and as she tried to stand up, the offending material tripped her up and sent her sprawling onto the floor. It didn't feel very nice. Rather cold, really. And hard, too.

Scrambling back to her feet, she rushed to comb her hair, change into her dress, and pack some other clothes into a satchel before she ran out of her room. She had to hurry, or else Isayah and the others would leave without her! As she ran, she caught sight of an Aes Sedai up ahead and frowned. Now she'd have to slow down, or she'd be yelled at! But she couldn't slow down, or she'd be even later! So as she rushed past the surprised woman, she attempted to execute a curtsy, which ended up as nothing more than an awkward stumbling, staggering mess. Definitely nothing graceful.

"At this rate," she said breathlessly to herself, "I'll be left behind AND punished for not showing the proper respect to an Aes Sedai!!"

But she ended up joining the group well before they left, and with a relieved expression, she dropped her satchel and tried to catch her breath. When she caught her step-sister's eye, she could have sworn she saw amusement twinkling in the girl's dark eyes.
