The two men slip into the stables.
"Get the bay, and harness that chestnut to it" The man said to the former-drudge. The boy nodded and did what he was told. The man picked out a fine roan mare, strong and lithe. He mounted, the boy came out, leading the two horses.
"Well come on boy! mount up! Hurry!"
The boy, shocked and haven never ridden before hopped up on the bay runner. The man came behind him and slapped the runners hides, jolting them into a canter.
"Sit foreward, hold on and don't bounce!" He yelled at the boy, as they cantered out ungloriously. Other drudges heared the commotion and came running, yelling thief. But by the time they had saddled up, both the man and the boy were out of site...
