*She leads Shane into the training arena. Lusitano cocks his head and exhales, and his tangled forelock goes flying. Katie grins and scratches his forehead.*
"You are such a cutie pie, ya know?"
*She swings lightly into the saddle, and closes her eyes*
"Mmmm..."
*It felt really good to be back in the saddle. She fingered her black leather half-chaps and fawn breeches lovingly, then gathered her reins and clucked softly. The colt snorts but walks on.*
"Good boy!"
*The two did exercises at the walk, doing circles, diagonals, turns, bending exercises, collecting and extending, and rein backs. Then he moved up into a trot. They circled multiple times and did a diagonal in each direction. Then she allowed the three year old a short canter in a circle, then dismounted lightly*
"You are so cu-ute!"
*Shane snuffled her shoulder noisily and she grinned and gave him a big fat smooch on his snip*
"We're gonna have to put some sunscreen on that!"
*She led him back to the barn, and walked him five minutes with a cooler, and 3 minutes without. Then she ran him over quickly with a curry and body brush, and returned him to his stall*
