The Problem:
So far fossil fuel is still the main global fuel source. United states, china, india, and many of the developing nations have increased their fossile fuel use. This could accelorate global warming and increase smog pollution related diseases to dangeraous levels and send the world to an irriversible spiral of climatic disasters.

The Social Invention:
My idea sees the solution in the only nation so far which has been able to significantly eliminate the need to utilize fossile fuel, BRAZIL. For those who know, most of the cars in brazil use ethanol, which is a form of alchohol that burns cleaner than gasoline.

The idea is for the united nations and major countries of the world, such as United states, the european union, United kingdom, and Japan to encourage the brazillian government and its automotive and fuel industries to begin educting and influencing other nations by sending delegates to the developing nations in order to motivate them to move towards alternative energy sources. Also, brazilian government and the ethanol industry can have more information
available in many languages to other nationalities to be informed.

Government delegates from Brazil could help kick start political interaction between them and other nation, with ethanol as the theme of that effort. The delegates from Brazil's ethanol and automotive industry could educate and even offer training and experties to headstart new ethanol facilities in the nations in need of a good fuel source.

Since ethanol can be produced from any starch producing plants, many countries that produce crops could use at least parts of it for ethanol production to be used domestically.

Offcourse, the benefit Brazil will get will be the growth of its already big ethanol and related industry. Second, brazil will boost its customer base. Third, in the future Brazil itself will have more than brazillian produced ethanol for brazillian consumption. Four, Brazil will be even a better country than it already is, in addition to all the nice facts about it.

If the rest of the world thinks more like Brazillians in respect to fuel use, then perhaps they will be ready for transition to alternative energy sources.
