 I agree Sue, a skillfully given, gentle enema is one of
the most intimate,tender moments between mother and child.
In fact the very word ene-MA seems to suggest something
deeply maternal.
So much has been said and written over the years, both
for and against the use of enemas during childhood, that
I think a "commonsense attitude" is the best.
Enemas are niether essential nor harmful.
They are simply very USEFUL in certain circumstances eg:
where it is easier and quicker to deal with a problem
from the bottom end, than from the top.
It has helped my kids on several occasions, but I have
never forced them to have one.
