MONROE, La. - The University of Texas at Arlington women's tennis squad clinched its sixth regular season title in the last seven years with a 5-2 victory at Louisiana-Monroe Sunday afternoon. The Lady Mavericks finished league action with a perfect 10-0 mark.

The Lady Indians surprised UTA as they showed off their impressive doubles skills and won two of the three matches played. At the No. 2 doubles spot, Diana Espinal and Noelia Leon teamed up and beat UTA's Monika Peciulionyte and Anete Rozkalne, 8-6. ULM's Pauline Bourdet and Elodie Burlet dropped Gretel Hach and Jessica Shepard 8-4 at the No. 3 position. Pavala Mesterova and Daniela Novakova paired up for the lone Lady Mav victory at the top position.

Mesterova pushed her singles mark at the top flight to 15-0 with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Espinal. Peciulionyte dropped her middle set but came back to defeat Leon 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4 at the No. 3 position. Rozkalne earned a straight set victory in the four hole while Hach and Shepard each won a tie break for the victory at the No. 5 and 6 positions, respectively.

Texas-Arlington returns to action Tuesday at North Texas. First serve is slated for 2 p.m. in Denton.
