Edyn nodded in approval. "That's good. We can't afford another disaster like last time," she said with a shudder. She then realized that the newcomer did not know what she was talking about, so she clarified. "The last time there was a Rokor attack, there was a clutch on the grounds. It was the wild clutch that didn't have parents, so Lillithe and I had to stay with the clutch while the others went to fight. Unfortunately, only four pairs were able to battle: two purples, a green, and my--" she stopped for some reason and paused, thinking. "Er, Lillithe's mate, a red. His rider was knocked off, but luckily a saber-toothed cat came to help. The riders took some pretty bad injuries, but everyone survived." She paused again, glancing down at her hot cocoa. "That's one thing that doesn't need repeating," she said with a thin, grim smile, then fell silent once more. It was surprising, she was not used to talking so much.

Don't scare him off, now, Lillithe chided her rider from the comfort of their den.

Time to think happy thoughts, Edyn agreed. "But anyway," she said aloud, upbeat again, "hopefully Vellale will have a nice, large clutch."
