Kaete's eyes flashed a threatening steel before swiftly fading to a dim blue.

'She doesn't mean any trouble,' she had to remind herself.

"Hmm," she said instead, and watched the girl across from herself with a wry little -- very little -- smile.
"Aye, it is something similar to your trouble with the red," she continued, and raked a slender hand through her ebon hair.

Kaete nearly doubled over with silent laughter, tears squeezed from the corners of her now-violet eyes.

Wiping them, she breathed, "I'm sorry... it's just... nevermind..."
