No need to apologize m'lad.

Jack was a product of the times, when heroes were taught that even if you could toss a building a quarter mile or melt the flesh off of your enemies with their eye beams, they'd never successfully find the love of a feather cut, blow-dried reporter.

Granted a big reason for that would probably be the nearly endless gym sessions to keep themselves from looking repulsive in skin-tight white lycra as well as lessons on how to put on the damn face paint in a phonebooth or behind a dumpster, but that's beside the point.

(Ok, well, no it's not and actually goes a great way in explaining why you generally don't see a lot of superheroes from the 70's...)
