Her frame involuntarily lifted up off the ground. Kaiyn was back! The little pup was back in Aarien. Kaiyn, Kaiyn, Kaiyn! She felt like dancing. Someone was back!
As suddenly as the feeling had come, it was gone (multiple personalities...?). The once almost-regal looking queen had matured. When once she was but a youth, now she stood an adult. A mature adult, let me remind you. She had learned patience here in the castle, also kindness, something she wasn't accoustumed to. But, love couldn't be taught. That, she knew instinctively, and that was what she felt now.
Oh, not the mushy icky romantic kind of love. Kaiyn was her cousin. The love for him was the want to protect him and to make him feel liked. Now, that was something new to her. Perhaps, this was how her mother, Kaano, or her uncles, Ferdie and Raumo, had felt towards their pack.....Nah.
Now, in her prime, on the verge of old age, Aarien sat, silently, and waited for Kaiyn to notice the differences in her. The frame that supported her was in better condition now, trained for endurance and agility. But, best of all, she had a scar running from her ear diagonally down her chest. It was impressive, but not of a Light Queen.
No longer patient enough, she blurted out, Took you long enough...
