It seems it's common then, the lack of 'chair obsession. silverchair (I still can't bring myself to use a capital "s") I'm pretty sure will always remain my favourite band. I check up on the news fairly often (chairpage says there's going to be some news coming soon!) but like you guys, I'm not obsessed anymore. My family would say that I'm obsessed with boysetsfire, and maybe I am, but I find that I get really excited about a band when release something new, and I don't necessarily stay as excited all the time. With silverchair, I've been obsessed about them pretty much non-stop, but during their "off-season" this time I haven't been as interested as in previous years.

When anything new happens, like another tour (if there is one) or more music, I'm sure I'll be excited. I think I noticed this when I didn't bother ordering the Tomorrow Never Knows book; it took me a couple of months to buy it. I didn't even think about it until I saw it onsale in Kmart. As it turns out, it was a great read, but when I'm obsessed, I actually count down the days to something like that.

I have so many great chairy memories, and I still love their music so I'll never stop loving them, but I don't think I'll ever get to the obsessive level I was at when I was 15...which is probably a good thing. My friends and I wrote silverchair poems and discussed the band every maths period. Anyway. Point being, if there is one, is that I love the band and I always will. And with the board, it's been amazing that we have kept in contact over three or so versions of it for all these years. I'll definitely continue to come here, and it's been great to be a part of this little chairhead community for so long! Okay I am getting sentimentle now, but really, it's quite something that it's lasted this long, much longer than the SC Addiction site which started it.

silverchair are always going to be the band that made me excited about music, not to mention being among the best shows I've seen. So yeah, despite not being excited anymore, I'm not worried because I'll always love 'em and have a special chair in my heart for them.
