I was right - Liberal minority. Which is probably the best any realistic NDPer could have hoped for - the Liberals don't have enough people in the House to pass a bill, so they have to team up with another party to get stuff done, and that's the NDP, under these circumstances. It'll kind of be like the Liberals saying, "Okay, we want to pass Bill A, Bill B, Bill C", and the NDP MPs going, "Okay, we'll vote for them, but you have to change this part of Bill A, and pass Bills D and E for US".

Plus, the only party in the entire country who GAINED support in this election was the NDP. Every other party lost votes. We doubled the popular vote, which means that twice as many people voted New Democrat than they did in 2000. VERY nice.

So yeah. With any luck, we'll have proportional representation and a new election within a year.

On the other hand... guess who's the MP in MY riding. That pyscho-bitch Gallant. Again. Then again, our riding IS known as the Bible Belt, so what do you expect, eh? But, it could be worse. Had the Conservatives won the minority, they'd pair up with the Bloc (the Quebec seperatist party) and Gallant would end up being a Cabinet Minister. So... I'm not TOTALLY freaking out.

Anyways, over and out for now. Still recovering from the open-bar party last night in Pembroke. DAMN... government parties are the BEST. LOL... :)

J.
xoxo
