Yes, Lee sure has softened in many ways. I know he's married to Dualla but I don't think that's going to last much longer. It doesn't seem to be the relationship she hoped it would be and I think he's pining for Starbuck down deep.I've got a feeling Dualla's not going to stay the type of character she is now. Otherwise, there's no real purpose for her and she's toast. Heh.

The Starbuck/Leoben thing reminded me a bit of Gunn, down in the basement, getting his heart ripped out every day... but I digress...I think Starbuck is definitely a soldier (with all the good and bad connotations) more than anything. She's trying to figure out a way to get out of there and has possibly found Leoben's weakness so she's going to play that angle. (I have to say I'd be peeved if they stole my ovary and then produced an offspring I'm expected to fawn over.) She's had a lot of trouble even accepting the "skinjob" type Cylon so I'm wary about what's going on here.

I'm right there with you about Saul Tigh. Interesting first name of his...no? And I only caught on repeat viewing that his eye is gone. I thought it was just injured.

I'd write a bunch more but I don't want to bore.

Gotta say that the Dean Stockwell/preacher Cylon is for me, turning the whole concept of Cylons on it's head.
He's a preacher and thinks it's a Cylon weakness...a flaw, even to believe in a God. I see his point but it's even more interesting coming from his character's mouth.
None of the Cylons really seem to question him on this.

I've got to say I'm really not interested in Callie's character at all. She just a little to wimpy to me even if she has tried to kill Boomer. I really don't have much emotional investment in Chief or Callie.

I'm more interested in the psycho-social aspects of this series. SO WELL WRITTEN. The writers/producers know most people live in shades of grey even if they think in black and white a lot of the time.

And Baltar...you sure captured his essence, Chani.
A new version of narcissism...how true. I think he's going to turn around and look at what he's become and make some big changes. I can hardly wait.

I wonder if that Saul will ever have an epiphany on some new road to Damascus!

I forgot to say it, but Ellen Tigh looks like a Shakespearian character more than ever, very lady Macbeth rather than Helen of Troy!

Preacher Cavil is evil, and I must confess that Dean Stockwell will get on my nerves very soon if he keeps miming quotation marks!

I agree, Baltar is gonna surprise everyone soon...

Oh I love that show! It's almost as good as BTVS was.

Do you remember when he rejected the Six in his head in favour to Gina during season 2?

I think it was a big metaphor. Baltar did feel compassion for Gina, he took care of her, helped her, he was less self-centred than usual, so he rejected his Six that represented that part of himself caring only for his own ass!

He was definitely less self-centered in that situation. Surprisingly so.
Metaphor it must be.
