The rumor has been floated that Ray Rhodes, who resigned his job as Denver's DC on Jan. 11, will be going to Seattle.

That would be a shame.

First because he could very well be the solution to our defensive problems. (And boy do we have defensive problems)

And Second...because Seattle is in our division now. And a reunited team of Holmgren and Rhodes could very well shove the Niners prospects for future playoff appearances into the root cellar.

This is where I'd really like to see management get aggressive this off season.

Yes, Seattle has lots of money and will probably try to out bid us.

Yes, Denver still owns Rhodes's contract and could try to throw a monkey wrench into the works.

GO AFTER RHODES!!!

Simply signing Rhodes would go a long way toward turning what we laughingly call our "Defense" into a unit that would give other teams pause.

And in doing so...we'd damage the prostpects of a division opponant.

This is a win win, Terry.
