TIM - I read the article earlier and thought about posting it here. It really is a shame that "SMOOCH" along with all his positive and admirable qualities, doesn't seem to be the right fit for the 49ers to go deep in the playoffs and win a Superbowl. He really is a likable guy and has been a positive role model for the 49ers organiziation. If he took over for Walsh like Seifert did or like Switzer for Johnson in Dallas with incredibly talented teams, he might manage to stay out of the way and let his players win, but it would have to be one hell of a team to compensate for our present coaching weaknesses.

I think it's a shame that so many 49er fans are willing to settle for so little. I am not content to have a winning record and make an occasional playoff appearance. I want the 49ers to be a dominant Superbowl contender. Better coaching would accelerate that into fruition!

Oh, ya, the "SMOOCH" was for Mariucci smooching up to Denise York as it's reported that she adore this fair haired boy!

I too am getting concerned about becoming the SF Bengals if our owners & top brass start getting cheap! Not good!
