This message board is dedicated to and in memory of Dick Fegy. Please feel free to post any memories you have or stories about this wonderful musician and friend.

Dick, we will miss you so! Our Saturday nights at Vincenzo's will be a little less full because of your absence. We will miss the rich mandolin sounds you provided. We will also miss the way you always quietly came up with sly side jokes and puns. We will miss the table side talks about bluegrass music. We will miss you!

Dick and I both took 5-string banjo lessons from Frank Bradbury, a master of the classical banjo. This was back when we were both in our teens. On a number of occasions, we practised together, but I was aware from the start that he was a much better banjo player than I was (even though I was capable). The difference was that Dick was a musician, but I was just a guy who played the banjo.

His musicianship was certainly illustrated by his successful career. While I never had contact with Dick after I graduated from Manchester High School, he made a lasting impression.

I am sad to hear of his passing, but I'm sure he gave more than he received during his life.
