As I and others have pointed out, abusees whom you've probably never met have done just what you suggested. They have confronted and reasoned with SLee and their coworkers to no avail. No, they didn't stand during a Friday meeting and start yelling. What would that accomplish? If many had not already forgiven SLee as you suggest, then this board would be even more crowded and more emotionally charged. But even with forgiveness, there remains the responsibility to fix a problem. Even the forgiven must face the real-world consequences of sin. "Was she held down?" How irresponsible and insensitive is this?! One woman was accompanied by one Mark Yoon. Why do you think she was accompanied? For moral support? When someone's committment to obey him seems shaky, SLee routinely has them "accompanied." One person I know who did not want the eyelid surgery that SLee ordered was "accompanied" to Indiana to make sure they obeyed. As for too many stories, I agree that there are too many, too many to just flippantly dismiss. And how are the stories different? I haven't heard many contradictions in the accounts of abuses, unless you're talking about UBF denials of the testimonies. Your brave words ("with or without Dr. Lee") make it sound like SLee has little influence on or authority over you. I encourage you to be as independent of him as possible and grow through many teachers besides him. But you know that in the practical life of UBF, you are answerable to him first and must obey his word. Unfortunately, the practical life of a UBF member is never what it really should be. SLee said last Sunday that we shouldn't let anyone get between us and Christ, but in the practical life of UBF...
