Subject: Damon Londrigan's Denial

Damon Londrigan

Several weeks ago Amy Young published an open letter addressed to "UBF reformers".
In this letter she accused Little Sarah Kim and me (Damon Londrigan) of having an adulterous affair.
I had been asked to write a short statement concerning this allegation
but have not done so until now
because I did not think it necessary to respond to such a baseless and ludicrous allegation.
However, it has come to my attention that
this allegation has caused some to stumble in their faith
that the work of God is going on in UBF.
I would like to assure all those who are having such doubts
that this allegation is completely false.

Dr. Samuel Lee, Missionary Sarah Barry and Little Sarah sacrificed so much
to pray for me and to help me study both the Bible and my school work throughout the 1990s.
Through their efforts I learned the true meaning of Christian love.
I have the utmost respect and love for
each of them
and would never do anything intentional to jeopardize these relationships.

For those who are having doubts at this time,
please remember what the Bible says:
"By their fruit you will recognize them" (Mattehw 7:20).
The fruit of Dr. Samuel Lee's life work is evident
- a ministry with missionaries in over eighty countries proclaiming the love of God
and an eternal hope in His kingdom through faith in His Son.
God has clearly blessed his life work.
Likewise, Little Sarah is one of the most fruitful,
influential and most loved shepherds in Chicago.
The fruit of Amy's and certain other persons' actions is
to cause doubt and spread divisions between God's people.

The Bible also tells us that
we must "love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you" (Matthew 5:44).
This is what I am struggling to do
and I urge each of you who are reading this to do the same.

May God
richly bless you.

Like all the other things, the issue is not so much what Lt. Sarah or Damon did but how the ministry responded to it. Was it covered up? Did Hazel and Amy have a chance to have the problem addressed or were they told to knuckle under for political reasons? Those are the issues.

It is interesting that Damon says "The fruit of Dr. Samuel Lee's life work is evident." I can see M. Samuel or Ron or Mark Y. standing over his shoulder dictating this to him. However it is a loaded statement. Is not the fruit of Samuel Lee's life hundreds of wounded people, suicides, broken families, and crushed sinners? Is it not a ministry in division and disarray and an abhorrence and mockery to Christendom?

This reminds me of a story. Once D.L. Moody came accross a drunk rolling in the gutter on the streets of Chicago. The drunk looked up at him and said, "Hi Mr. Moody, I'm one of your converts!" Moody replied, "I can see that, if you were one of the Lord's you wouldn't be down there!"

Clearly, if
there is anything good in UBF it comes through Christ, despite the sinners that run it, not because of them. And the issues are not all the dirty laundry of leaders, but that the ministry makes a proper way to respond to them.

Is this the same Damon who sits in the front row of the worship service every week looking sorry for himself? He hardly cracks a smile. He just doesn't carry himself like a great admirer of Samuel Lee's work and fruit. Is this the same Damon who expressed suicidal thoughts to his shepherd a few weeks ago?

If Damon is as loyal as he sounds, why was he seen chumming with Jamie Young on at least two occasions last year? What is the story with Damon and Jamie? Thoughts, Amy?

Dear Damon,

There are enough number of witnesses who heard your own confessions from your own lips. There is also another eye witness who saw an important event related to the current charge. Please act truthfully and prayerfully. When you are found guilty, you will be the only one to be punished. Samuel Lee, Little Sarah can technically escape. That is the trap designed for you. Please do not be "cooked" by small benefits promised or hoped for. That is an illusion.

Yeah, that is a good point. We should not be distracted. If the point is just who is a sinner then there is nothing to argue about.

The point is that even leaders must be meaningfully accountable for their actions and sins along with the rest of the body of Christ. That is all.

Damon doesn't sound loyal. He sounds like a very confused and troubled young man who is caught up in a situation that is beyond him and he doesn't know what to do.

He sounds like he needs real help from people who are really concerned about his well-being. Perhaps if Jaimie really was with him he was trying to sincerely help him leave the circus that he has been existing in?

Damon, if you hear me...don't commit suicide! There is life beyond UBF! "A bruised reed he will not break, and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out, till he leads justice to victory" Matthew 12. Trust Christ ahead of people!
