Waiting for morning, I face the wall.
Tossing and turning, I try to recall,
Did I sleep for five hours, or only for three?
All sleep gets devoured while waiting to see.
I look at the clock, It's green face bright,
Quick to mock the passing night.
Then rather demurely calling the hour,
I look up unsurely from where i cower.
Almost in sympathy, the clock chimes quit.
I feel the sun's empathy from where i sit.
It streams light down casting night away,
Leaving me bound to another day,
Leaving me scared to face those nights,
Where sleep has no place in a place of no light.
