Oh, Poetry is not my bag!
With the I seem to lag!
I cannot get the poem to rhyme,
Much less make the poem sound glad!

No matter how hard I try,
It always comes out the same.
The poem sounds like the pits!
Oh how it makes me feel ashamed.

Now if I could just write a poem
Like the ones I see in a book,
Or on all those nice greeting cards,
You know, the kind that make you turn
your head and look?

If I could just write a poem like that,
Oh how happy I would be!
Yea, if I could write a poem like that,
I would not be writing this one,
you see?

So please tell me now if you
like my poem.
I promise not to nag!
But I just gotta know how you feel,
'Cause Poetry is not my bag!
