There is a dark cloud over my head
And a thunderstorm that follows me

And I try and I try

But

it is a fruitless endeavor to resist
what I know to be true

Umbrellas don't work
I've tried

You can't sheild it

You can't run either
I've tried that too

The weather in hell is always the same

So, I turn to Mother Nature
and beg for relief
And she is kind to me.

But the thunderstorm won't stop
And I just keep getting wet

And I try to hide
And I try to run
And I try to accept
And I try

and try

and try

so the thunderstorm calls on the lightning
and now I'm wet AND burnt

And again I plead with Mother Nature
but the ground has failed to produce healing

So if Mother Nature won't help me
I will try to reason with the thunderstorm myself

That only brings more lightning

Nature is hard to mess with

Maybe the Spring will bring the sunshine back
and move the cloud onto other pastures

In the meantime

I stay wet, hurt, and defeated by the things that ought to make me strong

I should learn to splash in the puddles

but i can't afford the boots.
