"Where's the padded room?" He asks Jent as he grips the heavy young mother's shoulders gently. Noting the wince she gives as he moves, his eyes stray to her belly, where he can concievably see a tiny paw indent the swollen surface. "There, I see it." Carefully (assuming they aren't stretching her in half) he makes his way toward the nursery, setting the tender cargo down gently. "I'll leave it to you for whelping, I can stay and watch, but I foal the runners. Canines are a different thing." Jexa emits a keening whine and fixes her soulful gaze on the blond young Journeyman.

"And these 'uns are of good stock, they'll be good herders. Easy now, Jex, easy girl. Jent's gonna take care of you." He runs a work roughened hand over the anxious and tense silky head and smiles at his young dog reassuringly. "Y'do trust him, right?"

As if in answer, she barks sharply and looks at Jent with intent.
