Then, abruptly, a cold smile crosses the young Herder's face. "You there, apprentice. Do me a favor. Write a message on a piece of hide, describing Z'yith's attempt to steal a canine from HerderHall. Send a flit with it to..." Jent trails off, rapidly recalling the appropriate Weyr. HerderHall is right near Keroon, which is beholden to... "Igen Weyr. Thank you." He had no idea who Z'yith was, other than a thief and almost certainly a renegade, but he recognized the honorific and knew the man had, or once had, a dragon. A matter for the Weyrs, and not his Hall.

His expression mockingly polite now, Jent speaks. "Well, Z'yith, it's an honour to have you visit my kennel. I do hope you'll stay for a bit, in fact I believe it's necessary." He gestures to a short stool. "Make yourself comfortable." Ameroni chirrups and crawls into Saent's cage, trilling and humming in an attempt to calm the frightened pup. "Sit." The one word is steely and every canine but Yote sit immediately, most still bristling. The lanky mutt remains standing, confident his master did not include him in the command, snapping and bristling and his half-wild eyes locked on Z'yith.
