Aosuth leaned back from the window and looked up as the newest pair of bonded appear. He watches as the rider slips off and into the Hall. He pauses a moment more before turning to the window again.

~Z'yith. It's time.~

Z'yith remained in his relaxed position until the rider walked in. When he did, he looked up, instantly correcting himself. Not he, she. A female rider. He caught her disapproving frown, but didn't respond to it.

'So?'
~So what? You want help? Or can you handle this as well as you've handled everything else?~
'...that hurt.'
~You've hurt me a lot in the past, Z'yith. And a lot of other people.~
'It's not like she's going to believe anything I say'
~Never hurts to try.~
'Old habits die hard.'
~But they can be broken.~
'With help?'
~With help.~

Z'yith sighed and ran a hand through his hair, only now noticing how messy it was. He wondered why Aosuth agreed to help him. Why he even wanted to stay with him? He'd had a lot of time to think things through...too much time. But he wouldn't quit the Renegades unless it threatened Kyssandra.

'Aosuth?'
~I stayed with you because of who you were when I chose you to be mine. It is not my choice whether I can leave or not. I must stay with you. But I wouldn't leave you if I had a choice. I know you can change, but even if you choose to stay in the Renegades, you don't have to be like this.~

Z'yith didn't speak after that, reflecting on what Aosuth had said. It made sense...but he didn't want to. Maybe he wouldn't have a choice.
