I know the schools are filled with teachers that should not be teaching are kids.
I am amazed how we will let anyone teach our children.
One bad teacher can damage a child for life forever.
We allow teachers to teach paced on passing a series of educational test; but we do not test if they are mentally stable.
There are many teachers that have sociapathic behavior who seek out teaching positions so they can prey on our children.

Get class room management ideas from other teachers.
Don't be too friendly to the your class at the beginning, be strict at first and then get friendlier if you need. You can't have the students respect you if you are too friendly in the beginning and then get strict.
Don't give up after the first few years of teaching - you haven't even given yourself a chance yet. Each year gets easier and better.
Try to get as much classroom work as you can before you start to teach. The more you teach, the better you get.

The curriculum committee decides the subjects you can teach. You, as a teacher, are allowed to teach what you would like under the curriculum outlined. You are able to teach from the book you choose. You have a lot of freedom.
