In reply to: Destiny 's message, "~Wings~" on 17:15:19 03/23/04 Tue

ooc: sorry, I forgot about my vacation and I didn't have time to leave a message....

a brief memory, flashing and fading. the thought of a relative. an uncle, dark as mahogany with a mane like midnight. honeyed pipes sound. May I inquire as to the name of your mother? I'm sorry if it brings up bad memories, but it's rather important to me. Uncle Mat would've wanted it, right? thoughts flickering at random. to and fro, back and forth. waiting for an answer.

Oh ... it's ...
She hesitates, looking horrified. Blinks and shakes her head, a few wrinkles forming above her eyes and at her nostrils, her chin tightening with stress as the name didn't immediatly come to mind. Serenade... she replies, with a hint of uncertainty. How could she forget her mothers name?

Boa snaps and nares widen. suprise and shock slam like waves onto the rocky shores of the faery's family history. snort emitted from corals, fluttering of eyelids like wings. Serenade? You're mother was Serenade? Emphasis on the name. strong emphasis. fem o' many travels speaks again. My uncle is Matador. Do you remember him? You must... Voice trails off, sputtering into silence. fading like a sunset into the ocean. golden flanks awash in ivory strands as brush flicks anxiously about, the hands of a clock ticking the time away.

Matador? she squeaks, head high she tosses her head. The ghostly forms of wings flare from behind her shoulders.
I ... I don't know... I remember his name ... was he one of her mates?

A look is given at the words "one of". she had had many? leave that alone and move on, let it roll off like water off a duck's back. well quack me. fae nods, tossing delicate crania skyward. Yes, I believe so. He was large boned, dark bay... tall, too. Looked nothing like me. Slow smile spreads 'cross femina's features, like a tentative new dawn. she spoke truth. her uncle had born no resemblence to the golden muse with a singsong voice and dancing step.

She steps back forward, her ears flicking. She licks her lips, thinking.
I think remember him ... I think I liked him, rather.
Though she speaks calmly, she's a bit shaken. The wings forming on her back fade away again ... she dips her head and nuzzles the emerald pendant clasped about one fore fetlock. Lifting her head she snorts softly.
He came later, I think ... he might have been her last before she was gone. I'm not sure. He wasn't my father. She says the last vehemently, tossing her head again.

Smile escapes velveteen lips and vix' nods. No, I didn't think he was. You don't look too much alike. Apple of her eye becomes the emeraldine gem at the other's foot and another smile, curiosity holding the reins, gallops onto her lips. And what is that trinket, may I ask?

She shakes her head. My father was Fighter. Vulcan says I look a lot like him. she says proudly. And a lot like Serenade, too.
She sighs sadly, dropping her head to the gem.
She closes her eyes, her sides shuddering briefly. It had been a long time since she'd talked about her lost family and it was hitting her hard. She tosses her head, pulling herself more upright and tucking the gem-bearing foot behind the other.
None of your business.

The femina brings an apology to mind quickly and banishes it even faster as the other vix' responds with curtness unwarranted. flicker, flash, anger a flurry in usual calm waters. dark clouds gather in chocolate skies, mannequin arranged in quite a different stance. larynx emits chords no longer honeyed and golden. A simple "I'd rather not talk about it" would've done just fine, thank you. Well, it seems there is nothing more to discuss. Thank you for you information on my uncle. I'll be on my way now. Exasperation blown forth in a sigh. temper to match temper. clipped tone emulates clipped trot as the femina makes her way off. her flesh and blood had resided here? golden flanks sway with every step, as churning pistons carry sun kissed chassis away.
