Okay, let me put to rest this little uproar. E-Wrestling isn't a goddamn "business" as Olson said. You people act like you're getting paid to sit on your asses and move your finger tips. E-wrestling is a form of pass-time. If you take it as seriously as some people do and devote all their time to it, I think that's really taking things over the edge. I'm sorry, but if you go through "training" to become an e-wrestler, you're a frickin' dork. Just learn with experience. It's the only way that you can TRULY get better. Everyone has their own style of writing, and if you try to do what other people say to do, then you're not being original, which in my opinion, is the entire point of e-wrestling. Originality keeps things interesting.

Now... Shafton and Olson both have egos that they should just keep in their own heads and off the website. There's no point that a person just "stops" developing writing skills. It comes with experience. So, I agree with Olson on that one. However, I disagree with Olson in the sense that I don't believe that "e-wrestling schools" are going to help e-wrestling. What HELPS e-wrestling is when feds stay open for longer than 3 weeks. When e-feds stay open for a long time, wrestlers get the chance to develop angles, change gimmicks/affiliations, and truly mold their character into the machine that they want it to be. When you have a character that can adapt to being a big heel OR a big face, that's when you know you have a winner... Take for example, Hurricane Helms (I know he is real-life, but it still applies) - His gimmick that he has right now gets him over as a face like mad. But, if he were to try to be heel with the gimmick, he wouldn't get anywhere. He's going to stay face for awhile to develop himself, but eventually, the WWF will figure out what to do with him and turn him heel, in order to fully show his potential on both sides of the spectrum. A wrestler can't stay heel or face forever. And if they do, it's boring. We all know that...

So, what does THAT have to do with the roleplay school? Well, it has a LOT to do with it. In the short amount of time that a wrestler is in the roleplay school, I doubt that the wrestler is going to be able to develop their character on both a heel and face level. Now, let's say that the handler of this wrestler had no roleplay skills coming into this whole thing... Now he graduates his character and goes off to an e-fed. He's doing great as the big face character that he first developed in the roleplay school; but eventually, the fed thinks it's time for him to turn heel... Uh oh... He doesn't know HOW to roleplay as a heel! Time to go back to square one!... See the problem?

I'm sorry to say, but roleplay schools are only holding back creativity. They're a great idea, and if there were some way to change the way things are right now, I'd be all for it. But as of right now, all the roleplay schools look the same to me... A great idea going to waste.
