Subject: Can My 1 year old son see a Ghost

I live in Chicago, and I do know there is a ghost in the house, he has frightened my son several times... My son would be playing (always after dark) and throw one of his toys into the other room, he usually runs to get them without a problem, but several times he has jumped back and screamed in terror and crawled back to me "shaking, screaming & crying" he holds on to me with a grip so tight I can set him down.I've tried to turn a light on and take him into the other room, but the closer I get the more he screams, something has scared the heck out of him. Can he see things that I can't? Is this ghost doing something to my son..? He has also woke up several times in a night with what they call "night terrors" could that be the ghost too?

I'm not an expert, but I have come across a lot of information, and from what I understand, children are more sensitive to this kind of thing. Something about their minds haven't been dampered by society yet, and they are more likely not to tell themselves there is no such thing. A lot of stories I have heard involve the children first seeing the ghost, and the ghost manifesting itself to the child because it's easier for them. Often a child will know the ghosts name and have sort of a friendship with them. It confuses me that your baby is scared by the ghost.

Children see everything. We teach them what they are seeing is not real and they choose not to see things anymore.

Your child could be feeling the emenations of the home. If there are a lot of anger or depression in the home that has built up over the years you baby could be simply 'feeling' the houses excess of emoutions.

Most children are empathic and so they attune to what is close to them.

I suggest clearing the house and blessing it to open the door for all the psychic junk that is stuck inside.

ok i have read a few books and i am currently working to develop my psychic ability. what i have read it that children can and sometimes do see ghosts, spirts or angels. from what i have read most ghosts are nice, but some are very mean. please do not be alarmed. the ghost may not like children, or he may just get a kick out of scaring your little boy. i would suggest that you talk to your son and ask him, what it is that he sees? try to be suppotive and listen and most of all dont amke your son feel crazy or weird. i would also suggest have a ghostbusting done in your home. the spirt that is scaring your son just needs to be urged to leave and to go towards the light. this can be done with out a professional but i dont reccommend that. try to take a picutre of your son playing or take a picture in the room he was playing in that he was scared in. you might see a haze, or a fog in the photo again dont be alarmed, the haze is the entity that roams your hosue. i hope that helps a little. you can email if you need more assitance and i will offer you all i can.

My son was a toddler(30yrs. ago),he was sleeping in his crib in a bedroom by himself, accessable via a door directly through the wall from my bedroom. I was almost asleep when he cried out, so I was standing there looking at him within seconds. He was standing in the crib looking at me , I said ,"Andrew, whats wrong?" He pointed toward me and just slightly to my left and said," There's a lady standing in that corner!" I felt the "goose-bumps" go up on my neck and shoulders(just as it is doing right now as I type this), I said,"No there isn't, go back to sleep!" No adult male ever wants to admit being scared, but I had the distinct feeling that if I turned around and looked over my left shoulder that there most definately would have been a "lady" there. The streetlight cast shadows throughout the room of the vines around the window(it's a 2-story brick house with the creeping vines clear up to the roof)I resurred him about two more times that there was no lady in the room , he calmed down, the "big chicken"backed out of the room, so as not to get an accidental "glimpse" of the item possibly in the corner and I told myself that it was probably the loving spirit of my great-grandmother who had owned and lived in this house for the last 25yrs. of her life, and she certainly would not harm my child(some "rational"mr. chicken!)He had no more outbursts in the night and my wife&I were just on the other side of the door if it were to happen again, which it did not.(if it did happen again, it would have been my wife's turn to go in the room!)I guess the reason the whole thing "shook" me so was because even at that tender age , my son and I had a very honest, relationship, if someone else had been the one to holler& point, I would not have been so bothered, maybe thats the upsetting thing about such things, little children are SO HONEST! They tell us what they see and thats it.Theyr'e not operating on another "agenda".

Children seem to be more sensitive.......Not sure what 'it' would be doing to your son without asking some questions.

E-mail me at wipsi@hotmail.com I have some useful information for you and would like to discuss this further with you.

Hello list,
My 3 1/2 year old seems to recall a past life. He brings up memories he has of Germany. He says thinks like, "mommy, remember when you were daddy?". He describes a house in details a young boy of that age couldn't possibly imagine up.

Good point..the memory thing...That is why childern are best for past life and past life hypnotic regression research. Adults have toooo much experience with things.

When my son was about the same age as yours, we had some odd things happen we still can't explain 14 yrs later. He would wake up at night babbling at something. He'd laugh, almost as if he was being entertained by something. There is some more background to this story, as I believe the house did have a spirit in it. I personally witnessed an orb floating through the place and my wife had several strange encounters with feeling a presence and floral odors. Thats another post but could account for some of what happened. There was one incident in particular with my son that totally freaked us though. He was about 1 y.o. and could walk holding on. One day my wife went to check on him in his crib as he was napping and found him outside the crib, side rail up, sitting on the floor playing with toys. She was shocked to see this and placed him back in the crib. She couldn't figure how he got out without injuring himself. He didn't try getting out after that either. Most kids, once they learn how to escape the crib, will do so every chance they get. That didn't start for another year. Plus he was just figuring out how to get around on his feet. How could he climb out a crib, and down the side? If he fell out, which is also improbable, he would have been screaming or unconscious neither of which occurred. We ask him about the incident, and the laughter at night, but he has no recollection of it. Perhaps something was being playfull with him.

My mother has several spirits attached to her, and my daughters still talk to them. My oldest daughter is 3 and my youngest is 2, and occasionally they will come out of the guest room where my mother stores toys for them, telling us about the man in the bedroom. Also, my 4 year old nephew talks to the lady in the kitchen. So, yes, I believe children are more attuned to the spiritual world, and that it is natural.

That about ur son in the crib, and the spirits playing w/ him. I believe in that b/c when my boyfriend was younger (probably 12 or 13) he lived w/ his family in his grandfather's old house where his grandfathers twin sisters had died. They would come into his room and talk to him, and play games w/him, when he was 12. When he was 16, they cleaned his room for him b/c his Mom was yelling at him to clean it and since he left and didn't do it, it was done when he got home. And no-one had been home since he left. I believe that some ghosts will come to trust and like a human, if they're kind enough around them. The thing is, u shouldn't let them see ur fear. They might mistake fear for anger, or something that scares them, so they begin to do evil things. It is amazing to me that these twin spirits stayed in his life as long as they did. I don't know what their purpose was, but they died at birth.
