Still water presents a special challenge to the angler looking to fish the different clines in the water column that fish may be consentrated in as they feed. For fish that are midging in the surface film I like an intermediate line because in will just break the surface and therefore not be affected by the wind and wave action. It is a line that is well suited for suspending a fly in the top strata. The secret to fishing still water is to find a line that doesn't sink too fast or for that matter to slow. What I look for is a line that will keep the fly in the strike zone for as long as possible. A popular still water line is the Orvis Slyline. I think it is one of the best still water lines out there, It has about a Number two sink rate and stalls out when you start to retrieve it, keeping the fly in the strike zone for a very long time..give it a try. We sell it at the shop, $46.00 Retail.Good Luck! Remember keep your rod tip in the water when you are retrieving. You won't miss any strikes!

Best Fisahes!
