The even sound of hoofbeats resonated through the trees at the edge of the forest, the steady clip clop of a trusty and steadworthy steed. Emerging from the undergrowth, a small horse with an equally petite woman perched on her back headed towards the small congregation.

In front of the woman, clutched tightly in her arms, was a little girl with silverish hair, cooing gently and patting at the horse's neck in delight. She couldn't be older then a year, maybe not even that, but she was a beautiful child, with rosy cheeks and chubby wrists.

As Makani halted next to Akki, Matilde slid down, taking care to hold the child close to her until she was evenly settled on the ground. She then set her down and walked slowly over to Celestin, waiting for her daughter, hand clutched in her own, to wobble behind.
