Subject: Badgers

While merely a rumor not too many years back, badgers have apparently made a strong comeback in the area. While the animals at Oak Openings have been encountered with some regularity the last 3 years or so, I had never heard of badgers away from the immediate Dune country.

Now that has changed. The young male badger that is mounted in the Oak Opening nature center/window on wildlife complex was actually roadkill found near Monroe street and I-475! This is fairly close to the Wildwood/Miakonda area.

Good stuff.

Greg
