But you've got to wonder if Vince will ever let that happen. WCW's cruiserweight division was a brilliant idea and worked really well, so much so that towards the end of WCW the cruiserweight belt was looked on with almost as much respect as the big one. They were innovative, athletic and a million times more fun to watch than Nash, Hogan, or any one of the big guys you could care to mention.

I use the analogy of aeroplanes. The old ones were uncomfortable, but when they had the opportunity to make new ones, they had to make them as uncomfortable as the old ones otherwise people would refuse to fly in them. It's not just Vince, but a whole layer of WWF top brass (Jim Ross for one) who think that the only way to go is more of the same stuff we've been getting for decades. People always level this accusation at people like Rob Van Dam that he'll kill himself wrestling the way he does, but how many serious injuries has he had in decade of wrestling? One? And how many has a formulaic dullard like Stone Cold had in the same time?
