I think we've seen enough of Rock v HHH frankly. HHH v Jericho would have been great if only they pushed Jericho seriously as a real champion, rather than putting the emphasis on Stephanie. And Hogan v Rock will be HUGE! It wont be a great match, but it will be BANK, as they say!
I personally dont expect any surprises or guest appearances. At most, maybe XPac will interfere in the Austin v Hall match.
WWF has done other interesting things in the time you mention. But most of them revolved around Kurt Angle, another awesome superstar that the WWF wont give a proper serious push to. Foley v HHH was interesting because the big star put the new guy over clean. Why wont someone do that now?
And the Invasion angle didnt need Steiner or Goldberg. All it needed was for Vince to book the whole thing to make the Alliance guys look effective. Instead, they all got buried, except for Booker T (who somehow survived despite never beating anyone), and RVD, who both stayed at the top due to their awesome natural charisma.
