This is from a comments thread on the In the Land of Blood & Honey page on . - the title is "As a bosnian:
and as someone from Srebrenica, I have seen the worst of the war that this movie will be about.
In my opinion, this movie is being made too soon. The wounds are far from healed for many, including both Serbians & Bosnians.
Even worse, this movie is about a very touchy subject... Only thing this movie will do is make money for Hollywood. It does not take into consideration the effects it will have on the people that are trying their best to get along after a terrible war.

It is sad that you are one of very few people who got the point. For Hollywood, it will make money and introduce a brand new ''talented'' filmmaker. Indeed, there is no better way to explore your direcing skills than on such typical subject set in faraway area, cuz they don't care. For outside world, classic story about good vs bad boys, with a little bit of love, which is considered a main plotline.
For outside world, interesting popcorn flick, they do not care for actuall damage this would couse. I am Serb, and very tired of all those people from ex Yu who spread hate around internet, about war, about who is nazi, who is genocidal, who did ethnic cleaning etc. In a war, everyone is dirty. There are no naive innocents. Even counting victims is pointless. Every human life is precious, and counting who killed more is just humiliating for everybody. Like licitation. Perversion at it's highest glory.
Personally, I am afraid that this film will alarm all those haters which will activate their tentacles of hate and couse more unnecessary fights, more nationalistic feelings, more humiliation. That will stop the progress of rehabilitation of the Balkan society, which is already too slow. Again, a story about who is actual victim, who is traitor etc etc etc....
I am a true pesimist about this. I fear that subject like this one will be ''too soon'' even 50 years from now on. And we feel insulted when world consider Balkans as savage area with beasts in human bodies.
By the way, film being made by Hollywood is final spit in the face to all Serbs and Bosnians. Altrough I don't believe that any other production might create something that would make certain climax of this a rathe uncertain. Just, being made by Americans is too hypocritical. We start wondering, is someone insultingly joking with us all, besides everything we are going through.

Shame on Hollywood, they love keeping things all stirred up.Jolie acts like she cares so much when reality, all she cares about is herself and what works best for her. I have said it before and will say it again, the only way she can "feel" is to see the torture of others. I want to barf everytime I see pictures of her with tears in her eyes while visiting refuge camps. It's quite a show she puts on but she will never fool me with her devisted act. :-(
