Buddy, it's not that bad here, i promise! 11 foot waves?! Where did you hear that?? Your rumor mill over there in the Midwest has gone out of control, huh? LOL Even the Carribean didnt have it that bad, and that's where the storm originated and was at its max strength! It's making landfall in NJ in a few hours, we will certainly feel the effects but no 11-foot waves, there will be considerably flooding in the very coastal areas but in the city it's safe. I wouldn't go roaming the streets, obviously, but as long as we are indoors, we'll be fine. We are stocked on food here to wait it out 2 more day if necessary (it should pass by late Tues night, according to all the online weather reports) so Halloween should be fine, just probably still rainy but not nearly as stormy or windy.
The only dangerous thing in Manhattan is currently this situation:
http://www.cnn.com/2012/10/29/us/new-york-crane-collapse/index.html
which is just a few blocks from my house. I don't see it affecting me directly but hope they get it under control somehow and nobody gets hurt....plus there are beautiful landmark buildings on that block, from Carnegie Hall to the gorgeous landmark building that houses Petrossian restaurant right underneath the crane so it would be such a shame if either of them got damaged. Can't believe it didn't occur to anyone to bring the crane down before the storm picked up, now it is too windy, don't know how they will deal with this one....

Will keep you updated, hopefully we won't lose electricity

Xo,
Myst
