Paramount Offering Mega Ticket for ‘World War Z’ in Select Cities

Offer includes special early screening of film and poster

Just two days after George Lucas predicted the future would bring $50 blockbuster tickets, Paramount Pictures and Regal Entertainment Group have already made the prediction come true with a “mega ticket” for “World War Z.” The $50 package includes an early 3D screening of the pic on June 19, just two days before the wide opening.

Besides the early screening, the package also includes one HD digital copy of the movie when it becomes available, one pair of “World War Z” custom RealD 3D glasses, a full-size limited-edition movie poster and a small popcorn. (Seriously, they couldn’t have thrown in a soda, too?)

The ticket will be offered in Houston, San Diego, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Irvine, Calif.

After bad buzz on the film following several reshoots and a major rewrite to the film’s third act, Par has been working hard on the pic’s promotion over the past month, hoping to counter negative perceptions. In recent weeks Brad Pitt has been touring the country surprising auds at early screenings, starting with a screening in New Jersey.

“World War Z” bows on June 21.

Now why aren't they offering this in my city? I would buy this for my son in a heartbeat. He would love that gift.

I am surprised they aren't offering it in NY Myst.

We were talking about exclusive items like this the other day. The people I was talking to about it said they didn't think it was fair and it was catering to the rich. They have a special ticket for Cedar Point as well. You can pay for an exclusive visit to the park where you never have to wait in lines and have a guide moving you to the front of the lines at each ride. I think that is awesome. I work hard for my money and I was buy that ticket for my son. What a great gift that would be. I love giving gifts like that, something outside the box, and unexpected. You know the person put a lot of thought into what you would like. I suppose everything has it's price, I suppose people think it's unfair because most people are struggling through this time. I try not to get hung up on money, it's such a waste of energy. I find when you don't hold onto it too tightly, it comes at you with more ease. I feel sorry for people who refuse to live because they are so afraid of it. That is Satan hard at work.
