I was asked the question: what's the best way to grip a deadlift bar? First off...Use what ever grip you feel most comfortable with...The grip you have the most confidence in when you grab hold of a lifting bar. The grip that was shown to me...and used by most powerlifters...was the baseball bat grip. While standing up hold your arms and hands like you are holding a baseball bat. Now rotate your arms down so they are in front of you. Your hands are in opposite directions,bend down and grab the deadlift bar by moving your hands outward until they just touch your thighs when you stand up. Now the bar won't roll out of your hands as easy.
