I'd like to say that if you look at all religions globaly, most come back to the fact that people are worshiping a higher power, reguardless of the name they give this power.
Not to mention that the only true americans are american indians, all the rest of us at some point come from the descendants of Immigrants, who came to this country to be free to make choices.

here is a poem I have written and published exactly about narow minded people who feel we should all have the same ideals

If I lived on an Island

If I lived on an Island all alone, I would
Know no one. I would want to roam. If I lived
On an Island of people all the same. I would
Want to meet someone different, and learn
Their name. If I lived on an island of people
Diverse. I would want to change them and make
Them the same. I live on a planet in space; we
Criticize each other for being a different
Religion, shape, and race. We kill each other
Calling each other wrong, because we are each
Different; we feel we don't belong. What
Would we have if we lived on an island of?
People all the same, we would want to meet
Someone different, and learn their name?
Then we would ask ourselves, once we where
Different and wanted to all be the same,
We are still unhappy, and we are to blame....

Enjoy people for their difference and embrace the people whome you hold dear, you don't have to be friends with the world, but you can't make them all the same as you either.
