After taking a little time for P2P to sink in, I think I'm ready to share my thoughts on it. I'm wondering what everyone else thinks of it - favorite songs, etc? Post away!
Here goes - I'll try to keep it brief:
The album, as you know, opens with "Eternal Forever". Definitely the best choice for an opening song! I was hooked immediately!
"This is Now" - a great upbeat song that gets your foot tapping. Just be sure to listen beyond that tapping, because there's some great lyrics here!
"Shackled" - possibly the most powerful song on the album - driving rhythm, dark lyrics, very cool vocal effect. It gives me chills.
"I Know About Dreams" - a nice quiet ballad, beautiful lyrics. Probably one of my favorites.
"So I Can't Help But Feel Afraid" - another powerful, driving, and emotional song. This is a song that pisses me off... heh. That sounds awful, doesn't it? But it's such a great song - I think if you've heard it, you understand. (or at least I hope so...)
"Within These Elements" - Here we go again - lyrics, lyrics, lyrics! Speechless.
"Anyone Can" - My favorite part of this song is how it ends... It just leaves me wanting more...
"Beautiful Lush," of course, is a gorgeous instrumental. Also, it's a great lead-in to...
"Your Special Day" - This is probably my favorite. A nice brooding ballad that kills me every time... *sob* ; ) Lots of raw, honest emotion.
So there it is - in as few words as possible. I love this album - like I said, I was hooked immediately. It's one of those few CDs that you can leave on 'continuous play' - each song flows so smoothly into the next. Intricately woven music, great lyrics, some great upbeat tunes. Congrats on another great album, Kevin!
What does everyone else think?
