I was lucky enough to catch singer/songwriter Peter Salett (http://wwww.petersalett.com) for the 2nd time at Fez under Time Cafe (http://www.feznyc.com) last night. You may have heard Peter Salett's song "Heart of Mine" featured in Edward Norton's movie "Keeping the Faith" (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0171433). You may have also seen and heard him in the cult hit "Wet Hot American Summer" (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0243655). Hopefully Salett will be getting more recognition and coverage in the upcoming months. His songs range from light, delicate acoustic guitar pieces to country-tinged rockers. His lyrics are plaintive yet hopeful, and his beautiful voice is reminiscent of a 'smoother' Ben Folds. It's nearly impossible to NOT be captivated by his songs once he starts singing. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for singer/songwriters that express more hope than despair.
